Senior Fitness Exercise Classes

Please check at or call the Rec Center front desk for current info on our Senior Fitness Exercise classes. We generally have classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, & Wednesdays.
Walking in the Rec Center Gym
The Rec Center Gym is open from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM every Monday, Wednesday & Friday for older adults and disabled community members to use for exercise walking. No membership required!

Senior Meals Program
Homestyle cooking with homemade breads and desserts always! Full meal served Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays @ 11:30 AM - $5 per person. Deliveries available for those who cannot attend in person.

Quarterly Community Meals
About every 3 months, we invite older adults in the Gunnison Valley to join us for a meal, and usually a social hour beforehand. To receive ongoing information about these meals and to get a first crack at RSVPs - sign up for the Senior Center News emails!

Field Trips
We take various social and cultural field trips throughout the year. These include Fall Leaf-Peeping tours, trips to the theater, trips to various local and regional hot springs, and other trips that folks want to take! Additional fee for transportation and other fees as the activity calls for may be required. All trips can be found through the Senior Center News or the Senior Center Events Calendar.

Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday, we host workshops on various topics. Topics have included:

Civic Engagement
The Senior Center regularly hosts local and regional officials and other leaders to engage in timely discussions about topics of interest to our community. These have included City Council candidates' forums, presentations on possible ballot measures, and roundtable discussions with elected officials. Come make your voice heard and engage in your community's future!

Welcome to Gunnison

Gunnison is a small mountain community on the western slope of Colorado with a population of approximately 6,560 full time residents. The population increases annually with the influx of tourism and Western Colorado University students numbering an additional 2,500. The City of Gunnison is the county seat for Gunnison County. Gunnison has a rich history of ranching, agriculture, mining, tourism and outdoor recreation opportunities that bring many more people through the community.
