Telephone Utility Tax

Telephone Utility Tax

There is a business and occupation tax levied against each telephone utility company operating within the city, maintaining a telephone exchange and lines, and/or supplying local telephone service to residents within the city. The annual amount of tax is $4.00 per telephone account.  The tax is also levied on VOIP and wireless telephone service. The tax is due and payable in four equal installments (April 30, July 31, October 31, January 31).

There is no specific form to file the report on, however, the statement should show the name of the telephone utility company, the reporting period, and the total number of accounts/lines for which the tax applies. The report should be sent to:

Finance Department
PO Box 239
