City Manager

The City Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer for the City and is responsible to the City Council regarding the efficient operation of all services to City residents. The City Manager is appointed by the City Council and serves at the pleasure of the Council. 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
  • Insure that all laws and ordinances of the City of Gunnison are enforced 
  • Direct and supervise all City Department Heads 
  • Provide administrative oversight for all city contracts, agreements and franchises 
  • Prepare and administer an annual budget for the City
  • Advise and assist the City Council in preparing policies and City initiatives 
  • Keep the Council advised of the City's financial condition 
  • Serve as the Chief Personnel Officer for the City
The City Manager is Amanda Wilson. Her office is located on the first floor of City Hall at 201 W. Virginia Ave.

Gunnison is a small mountain community on the western slope of Colorado with a population of approximately 6,560 full time residents. The population increases annually with the influx of tourism and Western Colorado University students numbering an additional 2,500. The City of Gunnison is the county seat for Gunnison County. Gunnison has a rich history of ranching, agriculture, mining, tourism and outdoor recreation opportunities that bring many more people through the community.
