The Community Outreach Liaison provides a language and cultural bridge between LatinX, Spanish-speaking, and immigrant residents and the City of Gunnison to encourage civic engagement, develop and foster community connections to improve inclusivity and equity for leadership and economic opportunities to enhance the quality of life.

The Hispanic Affairs Project (HAP) works to reduce the barriers faced by immigrant families living on the Western Slope, such as lack of integration, social inequalities, and limited opportunities for economic development through advocacy, community outreach, and direct assistance.

Gunnison County Multicultural Services provides access to healthcare through multilingual Health Navigation services.  As a part of Public Health, Interpretation and Translation services are provided to clients on an as needed basis.

Welcome to Gunnison

Gunnison is a small mountain community on the western slope of Colorado with a population of approximately 6,560 full time residents. The population increases annually with the influx of tourism and Western Colorado University students numbering an additional 2,500. The City of Gunnison is the county seat for Gunnison County. Gunnison has a rich history of ranching, agriculture, mining, tourism and outdoor recreation opportunities that bring many more people through the community.
