Update: City of Gunnison All Power Restored

Friday, September 11, 2020: Power Outage Update: 4:00pm: ALL POWER IN GUNNISON HAS BEEN RESTORED. The City of Gunnison wants to send out an enormous THANK YOU to all residents for your incredible patience and support while over 1000 electric outages were resolved. Your kind words are appreciated.   

The collaboration and teamwork between Gunnison Public Works and Parks and Rec crews, the Fire District, GVH Emergency Services, City of Delta linemen, Gunnison County Electric Association, Red Cross & Arden Anderson, Gunnison Police Department, Communications, the Sheriff’s Office, Gunnison County Emergency Management staff and Gunnison employees were vital in restoring power throughout the Valley. Thank you to everyone involved.

If you see power lines down or unsafe debris in the streets, call 970-641-8200 to report. Keep your distance from down power lines.  

The Tree Dump (137 County Road 51) will be open tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 12 from 8:00am-noon. It will be free for residential use through Friday 9/18. Next week the tree dump will be open 9:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday – Friday.  

Friday, September 11, 2020: Power Outage Update: 8:50am- Thank you to the Gunnison community for your support and patience over the last few days.

The City of Gunnison electric crew is trouble shooting the remaining handful of outages on a case-by-case basis today.  If you have inquiries about the remaining outages, contact Public Works at 970-641-8020.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in resolving the power outage. Incredible teamwork.

Wednesday, September 9, 2020, 12:00pm: The City Tree Dump will be free for residential use through Friday the 11th starting at 1pm today.  The City Tree Dump Hours are Tuesday - Friday 9am to 5pm.

Tuesday, September 8, 2020, 9:00pm: The City of Gunnison is aware of several power outages in Gunnison County. We ask for your patience as crews are working on getting the power restored. Be prepared for power to be out all night. Crews will be out tonight removing debris from the roads. If you see down power lines or power lines that are sparking please stay away and call the Emergency Operations Center 970-641-7607 until midnight. To help prevent your pipes from freezing, please allow your water to dip. 

IN NEED OF EMERGENCY OF SHELTER? Please shelter in place or stay with friends and family who have power. If you need emergency shelter, the Emergency Operations Center has set up a communal emergency shelter at the Fred Field Fairgrounds, 275 South Spruce.  Be sure to bring your own masks or face covering, bedding, medications, and personal hygiene items. Wash your hands and practice social distancing as best you can.  Sorry, no pets allowed. Call the Emergency Operations Center at 970-641-7607. After midnight, call Arden Anderson at 970-901-5739 for assistance.

Asegúrese de traer sus propias mascarillas o cubre cara, ropa de cama, medicamentos y artículos de higiene personal. Lávese las manos y practique el distanciamiento social lo mejor que pueda.
