Gunnison County Victim Services

Gunnison County Victim Services provides crisis intervention services, support, information, and advocacy to victims, witnesses, and family members in the event of criminal victimization or in certain instances of non-criminal events.  Victim Services staff is available to respond 24/7/365, assisting crime victims working with Gunnison Police Department, Gunnison County Sheriff's Office, Crested Butte Marshal's Office, and Mt. Crested Butte Police Department.

Victim Services staff provides a proactive and victim-centered approach to meet victim's needs through on-scene crisis intervention, identifying resources/services,  and connecting those affected by crime to community and system-based agencies for further support. Victims will be provided with appropriate referrals on the criminal justice system, Victim's Rights, Crime Victim Compensation, protection orders, counseling, safety, procedural and factual information concerning the crime and act as a liaison with law enforcement and other community agencies.

Welcome to Gunnison

Gunnison is a small mountain community on the western slope of Colorado with a population of approximately 6,560 full time residents. The population increases annually with the influx of tourism and Western Colorado University students numbering an additional 2,500. The City of Gunnison is the county seat for Gunnison County.
