American Red Cross Lifeguard Training.  Be safe in the water at pools and open water.  Recognize the signs of distressed and drowning swimmers.  Jobs are available at the Gunnison Community Recreation Center.
Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR/AED/First Aid for Professional Rescuers, Water Park, Emergency Oxygen and Blood Borne Pathogens Training.  Online and practical learning.
Must be......
  • At least 15yrs old
  • Able to swim a 300 yds on front with rhythmic breathing and or breaststroke.  No backstroke or sidestroke allowed. 
  • Able to pick up a 10 lb brick off the the 10 ft area and swim 15 yds with brick.
