See the About Us link for more information on the 9-1-1 Center and the staff directory.
Gunnison Regional Communications Center coordinates, supports, and maintains many systems including the 9-1-1 information database. We are versed in communications techniques to accommodate any caller's needs and emotional state.
The Gunnison Regional Communications Center is a "Distinguished 9-1-1" Multi-Agency Comm. Center which ensures the safety of the public, police, fire, and EMS personnel by making diligence, speed, accuracy, and professionalism a priority when gathering information and dispatching calls.
To greet those who call us for assistance with courtesy and compassion, to remember that what seems routine for emergency service professionals may be an emergency to callers at that moment in their lives.
How they are treated by our communications center is what will mold their opinion of our emergency service system.
Recently, the Executive Director met with members of the Board and user entities to formulate some goals. By launching a strategic plan, the Gunnison/Hinsdale Combined Emergency Telephone Service Authority can ensure:
- Priorities are used to inform all decision-making processes including resource allocation during creation of the annual budget and establishment of employee work plans,
- Continuity during changes in leadership, and
- Relatively scarce resources are focused on longer-term objectives, especially throughout the year when “putting out fires” and responding to immediate needs.
