Gunnison Regional Communications Center -
  • Receives 9-1-1 and non-emergent calls from the public
  • Determines the priority and scope of the request or situation and then
  • Dispatches the appropriate Law, Fire, or EMS support

In addition, Gunnison Regional Communications Center coordinates, supports and maintains many systems including the 9-1-1 information database. We are trained in Emergency Medical Dispatch in which we can provide medical instruction, from basic first aid to CPR until appropriate responders can arrive. We are versed in communications techniques to accommodate any caller's emotional state.

The Gunnison Regional Communications Center is a "Distinguished 9-1-1" Multi Agency Comm. Center which insures the safety of the public, police, fire and EMS personnel by making diligence, speed, accuracy and professionalism a priority when gathering information and dispatching calls.

To greet those who call us for assistance with courtesy and compassion, to remember that what seems routine for emergency service professionals may be an emergency to callers at that moment in their lives.

How they are treated by our communications center is what will mold their opinion of our emergency service system.
