The City of Gunnison is a Home Rule Municipality, and all elections are nonpartisan. Regular City elections are held on the first Tuesday in November on each odd-numbered year.
Voter Registration is done through the Gunnison County Elections Office located at 200 North Wisconsin Street in Gunnison, phone 970.641.7927. For information concerning Fair Campaign Practices and other Election information visit the Colorado Secretary of State website.
Gunnison residents are encouraged to consider running for Gunnison City Council in the Nov. 7 election. There will be open seats on City Council in November. For information on the steps needed to be taken to have your name on the ballot, click here

Welcome to Gunnison

Gunnison is a small mountain community on the western slope of Colorado with a population of approximately 6,560 full time residents. The population increases annually with the influx of tourism and Western Colorado University students numbering an additional 2,500. The City of Gunnison is the county seat for Gunnison County. Gunnison has a rich history of ranching, agriculture, mining, tourism and outdoor recreation opportunities that bring many more people through the community.
