Planning and Zoning Commission

Contact Planning and Zoning Commission members through the Community Development Office. The Planning and Zoning Commission consists of seven members appointed by the City Council. Six members are citizens-at-large with overlapping five-year terms, and one member is the City Council liaison. Members must be qualified taxpaying electors, residents of the city, and may not hold paid office or positions in the City administration.

The Planning Commission perform all duties described in Section 3.19 of the Gunnison City Charter, pertinent provisions of Section 31-23-307, Title 31, Colorado Revised Statutes, as amended, and the City of Gunnison Land Development Code. The Commission reviews land development applications to ensure compliance with all provisions of the Land Development Code. It is responsible for preparing the City of Gunnison Master Plan and other development documents.

Regular meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month in the Council Chambers, second floor of the Municipal Building. Minutes are posted after approval is voted on during the following Regular Session. For agendas and minutes not listed, contact the Community Development Office.

Members are appointed by City Council to serve five year terms.
