March 13: Seniors & Cannabis, a Perfect Match
This workshop will explore the role of cannabis in the future of healthcare, it’s current role in society, and how it can help with health issues seniors face everyday.

Presenter: Spencer Hestwood, Director of Operations, Cosmic Kitchen
Spencer Hestwood is the director of operations for extraction facility Cosmic Kitchen, one of the fastest growing names in the Colorado marijuana industry. Having spent 16 years as co-owner of the famed Asian fusion restaurant, The Ginger Cafe, Spencer decided to pursue his other passion, marijuana, beginning in 2015 when he assisted with legalization efforts in Colorado. When the law was finally passed, he began to follow a new calling-marjiuana growth and research. In his role as CCO (that’s Chief Cannabis Officer), Spencer and his team of accredited chemists research new and exciting applications of cannabis in both the recreational and medicinal fields, and through his vast expertise in the food and beverage industry, Spencer helps bridge the gap between scientific discovery and business practicality. In addition, he spends countless hours on public outreach, helping educate everyone from the largest corporations to the smallest congregations on the many applications of cannabis beyond the recreational, including medicinal and practical uses. Or, to put it in his words, he is always “striving for innovation through dynamic research.”
